COL. William Bograkos, MA, DO, FACOEP, FACOFP received his disaster and addiction medicine training while serving in the United States military.

 COL. Bograkos has served as the Family Practice consultant to the Command on Domestic Violence, Drug & Alcohol Abuse, and Suicide Prevention / Response while at home and abroad. He has served as a Battalion Surgeon for the Military Police, Division Surgeon for a NATO Peacekeeping Division (post 9/11), and as the Chief Medical Officer for Immigrations Customs Enforcement. COL. Bograkos' last duty assignment was "Chief, Warrior Transition Division, North Atlantic Medical Command". He completed his MA in "National Security & Strategic Studies" (AOS Irregular warfare / narco-terrorism) through the Naval War College.

Currently COL. Bograkos serves as a consultant to the Psychiatric Continuity Service at WRNMMC, Bethesda, MD, and as a consultant for www.HOMEMIND.dk Danish Wounded Warrior Project (NATO). COL. Bograkos holds an appointment as Professor Military Science, Family Medicine, and Emergency Medicine at UNECOM.  Dr Bograkos holds appointments as Professor Military Science, Family & Emergency Medicine (UNECOM), Adjunct Professor Center for Excellence in Neuroscience (UNE),  Assistant Professor Military & Emergency Medicine (USUHS), and Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (USUHS).

The mission of the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine is to improve the health of individuals and families burdened with the disease of addiction.
