Bio
Dr. Miles was born and raised in Mississippi and relocated to Northwest Pennsylvania to attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. After graduating, she completed her family medicine residency at Meadville Medical Center. Having experience in multiple arenas of medicine, she has a professional background in family medicine, directing residential rehabilitation units, lactation consulting, and wound care. She volunteers her time to see patients at and serve as Medical Director of Meadville Area Free Clinic. She comes to us from UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor, where she serves as addiction medicine physician. Dr. Miles is dually board-certified in family medicine and addiction medicine. She serves as peer reviewer, editorial board member, and associate editor for the Journal of Addictive Diseases and as an author of lay articles focusing on alcohol use disorder. With a commitment to education, she works to instruct both her patients and the upcoming generation of health care professionals as she holds teaching positions for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine at Hershey, and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. From a personal perspective, Dr. Miles’ life has been touched by a family member and a close co-worker with substance use disorder. She knows both these individuals before and during their active use and now in committed recovery and knows how hard they’ve worked for their goals. She wishes to see this success for all her clients. She has been married for 25 years to her beloved husband and is the proud mother of 3 teenage sons.
